Route 66 Road Fest Traveling Festival – Tulsa, Oklahoma (Traveling)

Presented by AAA, the Route 66 Road Fest is a singular celebration—an invitation to journey through the history, characters, landmarks, and enduring spirit of U.S. Route 66.

Spanning nearly 450,000 square feet, transforming history into a fully immersive experience. The event brings together historical exhibitions, a classic car showcase, curated vendors, and family-friendly activities—designed to evolve and expand year after year.

Created as both a commemoration and a re-creation, the Road Fest captures the spirit and cultural significance of U.S. Route 66 at the height of its influence—often called The Mother Road—inviting visitors to step into its stories rather than simply observe them.

At the heart of the experience is The Journey, a seven-part historical exhibition organized chronologically by decade. Each chapter blends photographs, film, vehicles, artifacts, and interpretive content to reflect its era. The narrative is further brought to life through period-dressed performers, layered soundscapes, and three-dimensional environmental features—creating a rich, multisensory experience that places visitors inside the history itself.

“The decade-by-decade Journey that Wade Bray created for the AAA Route 66 Road Fest is incredible!  From showcasing in-depth research on historic Route 66 that informs the viewer’s interaction, to locating engaging, nostalgic objects that enhance the exhibit, to creating first-class exhibits that provide an immersive experience, The Journey is the full package!”

— Michael Wallis, author, historian, and Voice of The Sheriff in Disney/Pixar’s Cars movie

The Angel of Route 66 Museum Exhibit – Kingman, Arizona

MEET THE MAN WHO SAVED ROUTE 66.

In 1987, Angel Delgadillo, a barber from Seligman, Arizona, helped ignite the movement that would revive U.S. Route 66. By founding the organization dedicated to preserving the historic highway, Delgadillo sparked a renewed national—and international—appreciation for the road and the communities it connects.

His passion and persistence transformed a fading roadway into a living piece of American culture. Today, visitors from around the world continue to seek him out, grateful for his role in preserving the spirit of Route 66. Known affectionately as the “Guardian Angel,” Delgadillo remains a powerful reminder that one person’s dedication can change the course of history.

Today, visitors can experience Angel Delgadillo’s warmth, wit, and passion firsthand through an interactive, state-of-the-art experience. Using advanced technology, guests are invited to ask questions about his life’s work—and receive responses drawn directly from his stories, insights, and decades of dedication to Route 66.

This immersive encounter extends a legacy of conversation. Angel has shared his story with thousands over the years, including John Lasseter of Pixar, who interviewed him while preparing the Disney film Cars—a modern tribute inspired by the people and places of Route 66.

Here, that same spirit of connection continues—bridging past and present through dialogue, curiosity, and lived experience.

“Working with Wade Bray was such a pleasure. He was outstanding from the beginning of the project. He was punctual, professional, friendly, and dedicated. The exhibit he created to enhance The Angel Delgadillo Storyfile experience was vibrant, thorough, and exceeded all our expectations. Our family would be happy to work with Wade again in the future and we would recommend him to anyone that could benefit from his expertise and services.”
